DELIVERY POLICY

J R Building Supplies Ltd

1. Delivery Coverage

We deliver building supplies across Nuneaton, Warwickshire, and the wider Midlands region. Our standard delivery areas include:

  • Nuneaton and surrounding areas (within 5 miles): Free delivery on orders over £100
  • Warwickshire (Coventry, Rugby, Bedworth, Atherstone, Hinckley): Standard delivery charges apply
  • Extended Midlands region: Available upon request – contact us for a quote

For deliveries outside our standard coverage area, please contact us at hello@jrbuildingsupplies.co.uk to discuss availability and pricing.

2. Delivery Charges

Standard Delivery Rates:

  • Orders under £50: £15 delivery charge
  • Orders £50-£99.99: £10 delivery charge
  • Orders £100-£199.99: £5 delivery charge
  • Orders £200+: FREE delivery (within 10-mile radius)

Specialist Deliveries:

  • Bulk materials (aggregates, sand, cement over 1 tonne): POA (Price on Application)
  • Large timber lengths or oversized items: Additional charges may apply
  • Crane or hiab delivery: Additional charges apply – contact us for a quote

All delivery charges will be clearly displayed at checkout before you complete your purchase.

3. Delivery Timeframes

Standard Delivery:

  • Orders placed before 12:00 PM (Monday-Friday): Next working day delivery
  • Orders placed after 12:00 PM: Delivery within 2 working days
  • Saturday orders: Delivery from Tuesday onwards

Express Delivery:

  • Same-day delivery available for orders placed before 10:00 AM (subject to availability and location)
  • Additional charge: £25

Collection:

  • Orders available for collection within 2 hours of order confirmation during business hours
  • Collection from: 7 Adderley Avenue, Nuneaton, CV10 0FB

Business Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Sunday: Closed

4. Delivery Process

4.1. Order Confirmation: You will receive an email confirmation when your order is placed and another when it’s ready for dispatch.

4.2. Delivery Notification: We will contact you by email to arrange a suitable delivery time slot where possible.

4.3. Delivery Window: We operate within delivery time windows (typically AM: 8:00-12:00 or PM: 12:00-5:00). We will inform you of your delivery window in advance.

4.4. Signature Required: A signature is required upon delivery to confirm receipt.

4.5. Unloading: Our drivers will unload products to a ground-floor, accessible location. We cannot carry products upstairs or through properties.

5. Delivery Requirements

5.1. Access: You must ensure there is adequate access for our delivery vehicles. Standard delivery vehicles require:

  • Minimum road width: 3 meters
  • Minimum overhead clearance: 4 meters
  • Firm, level ground for unloading

5.2. Access Issues: If our driver cannot access your delivery location due to narrow roads, low bridges, or other restrictions, additional charges may apply for alternative delivery arrangements, or you may need to collect from our depot.

5.3. Presence Required: Someone aged 18 or over must be present to accept delivery and inspect products.

5.4. Safe Location: If you cannot be present and authorize a “safe place” delivery, this is at your own risk. We are not liable for products left unattended.

6. Failed Deliveries

6.1. If we are unable to deliver due to:

  • No one available to accept delivery
  • Inadequate access
  • Incorrect or incomplete address

We will attempt to contact you. A redelivery charge of £20 will apply, or you may collect from our depot free of charge.

6.2. After two failed delivery attempts, orders will be held at our depot for 7 days. Collection must be arranged within this period, or the order will be cancelled and subject to our Returns and Refund Policy.

7. Delivery Inspection

7.1. Inspection on Delivery: You must inspect products upon delivery for:

  • Correct items and quantities
  • Visible damage
  • Defects

7.2. Reporting Damage: Any damage or discrepancies must be noted on the delivery note and reported to us within 24 hours by emailing hello@jrbuildingsupplies.co.uk.

7.3. Photographic Evidence: Please take photos of any damaged products and packaging as evidence for claims.

7.4. Accepting Delivery: By signing the delivery note without noting damage, you accept the products are in good condition.

8. Bulk and Large Orders

8.1. For bulk deliveries (e.g., aggregates, bricks, blocks), we use specialist vehicles. Ground conditions must be suitable for heavy vehicles.

8.2. You are responsible for ensuring the delivery location can accommodate bulk materials.

8.3. We are not liable for damage to driveways, paths, or property caused by heavy delivery vehicles unless due to our negligence.

9. Delivery Exclusions

We cannot deliver to:

  • PO Box addresses
  • Locations without vehicle access
  • Sites without appropriate unloading facilities for heavy materials

10. Changes to Delivery

10.1. If you need to change your delivery address or date, please contact us as soon as possible at hello@jrbuildingsupplies.co.uk.

10.2. Changes may be subject to additional charges depending on timing and delivery schedule.

11. Delays

11.1. While we strive to meet delivery timeframes, delays may occasionally occur due to:

  • Adverse weather conditions
  • Traffic or road closures
  • Supplier delays
  • Circumstances beyond our control

11.2. We will notify you promptly of any significant delays.

11.3. We are not liable for consequential losses due to delivery delays.
